Dear Why Team member,
I hope this week’s message finds you well and encouraged - keeping your why in front of you, guiding you.
At this writing, I am fresh back from speaking in Boise and Salt Lake City.
It’s always a privilege to address an audience confident that at least one person will be positively served even if that person is just me. Typically, my speeches focus on the Why. Me and my team, which has partnered with me to serve you, our fellow Why Team members, live by this ‘Why’:
WE EXIST to serve from an abundant mindset our audience of ONE: YOU, by inspiring in word and deed, to examine life through WHY infused thinking, in order to overcome limiting beliefs and live our Best Life Ever.
Without an aim, we can become aimless - without a point, life can feel pointless. Have you established a target to orient your mind and body towards- and if not- why not?
During my more recent speeches I have been inviting my audiences to plant the Acorn to get the Oak. Potential is found within the seed, but we must plant it. Since the mind is drawn to what is drawn, I highly recommend you plant your seeds of insight, your intentions, by simply writing them down. It is particularly powerful to just write down ‘I want to live my Best Life Ever, by becoming more…’
The dots after more are personal to you. Consider writing down these words and thinking what ‘more’ you want to become.
More present?
More enthusiastic?
More loving?
More healthy?
More fit?
More grateful? - this desire likely being the most beneficial in life since gratitude and depression cannot co-exist. This begs the question: are we experiencing an epidemic of depression or an epidemic of ingratitude? Nothing like social media to have us focusing on what we don’t have rather than on what we do have.
This week’s message is an encouragement to write down your ‘why’ - and if you have already done so, to write it down again - and consider reading it every morning.
I have a few refrains/mantras I endeavor to write down every morning:
BEST DAY EVER
Grow and Give - Learn and Love
I am grateful for absolutely everything!
Not win or lose, but rather win or learn.
Nothing in time can bring timeless peace - it is ever present
What are your morning aphorisms?
“Experience isn’t what happens to a man, it’s what a man does with what happens to him.” - Aldous Huxley
Our lifetime is Now because it is the only time we are alive. And every moment we are paying our priceless attention to something, for something - consider asking, ‘ is it, whatever it is, worth it’? What is the return we are getting for our life currency, our precious attention? For those who choose to pay their priceless attention to bitterness and resentment, often wonder why they remain bitter and resentful.
I once heard bitterness is a poison we drink to hurt someone else. It’s not a good trade.
No matter our circumstances, we have the power to ask how may my behavior improve this situation? We get to choose victor or victim.
What can keep us on track to make better trades with our time?
It is the establishment of a WHY that is outside our personal wants and desires.
Life itself is a gift, and gifts are for giving.
“He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” - Friedrich Nietzsche
As we come into the Holidays of 2024 - hopefully, you can reflect on all the ways you have become more; all the better trades you made to improve your returns.
To live our Best Year Ever we endeavored to live our Best Days Ever!
It is a privilege to provoke thought, provide new perspectives, and to encourage you the way I encourage myself, every week. Thank you for being a Why Team member, thank you for wanting to become more for yourself and others - and how about together, we Become Even More Alive in 2025
As we celebrate this month of Thanksgiving, Thank You for being on the Why Team. TWB: Together We’re Better!!
Make it a great week!
