Dear Why Team member,
I hope this week’s message will resonate with you and be a source of encouragement - a reminder that great, big things, often originate from small, little things.
Why Plant The Acorn?
To get the OAK!
I’ve had an incredible start to this New Year - being given several opportunities to present, and hopefully be a source of encouragement to others, in Nashville, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Buffalo, Rochester, and this week in Massachusetts. I couldn’t be more grateful to those who invited me out and those who filled their venues.
One of my favorite insights is that,
“When we seek to light the path of another, we cannot help but illuminate our own”.
- John Maxwell
A core message from stage this year, to REVIVE & THRIVE IN ‘25, is to acknowledge the power of planting.
The mind is drawn to what is drawn.
If you haven’t written down your thoughts regarding this New Year, I invite you to do so now; grab your journal or a sheet of paper and simply write down these words:
‘I am living my Best Life Ever’.
‘I am becoming more …’
The dots are personal to you; more what?
More Grateful?
More Forgiving?
More Present?
More Fit?
Consider that the words that follow ‘I am’ follow you. What words are you choosing to put behind ‘I am’?
Last year, I encouraged my audiences to write ‘I want to live my best life ever’ and it occurred to me recently the error in the statement. It assumes we’re not already living our best life ever and may cause us to live more in ‘want’ than in ‘gratitude’.
The mind is drawn to what is drawn - and can help us to think differently.
“Change your thoughts, change your life” - Wayne Dyer
Consider getting those thoughts of yours out of your head and on to paper. Writing improves our ability to think and can make more room in our minds for creativity and analyses of what and how we’re really thinking.
A powerful way to address a flood of emotions is to pull the plug with your pen. Write it down - begin again, today is always a rebirth of our consciousness, and always a gift beyond anything material we possess. Without awareness, without consciousness, we have nothing.
Does anything in our life exist without our awareness of it? It may actually exist, but it has absolutely no impact on our life experience without our conscious awareness of it.
So now, more than ever, consider where you pay attention and what you’re receiving for the expenditure of your life currency.
Consider paying more attention to the seeds of potential you plant. We will not get the Oak if we do not plant the Acorn. Consider the potential of the mighty Oak that is within the smallest Acorn.
Oh, we of little faith, failing to believe in the possibilities, not planting, and thus not bringing forth our potential.
It has been said that our greatest untapped resource is found in Cemeteries.
Let’s not let this happen to us.
Let’s plant more seeds of potential in 2025 than we have ever planted before. Let’s write more than ever before - journaling our journey - expanding our potential for ourselves and others - through better stewardship - recognizing all the more…
“That the price of anything is the amount of life we exchange for it.”
- Henry David Thoreau
Consider proclaiming first thing every morning, the moment you are born again to consciousness, just three powerful words:
BEST DAY EVER
Reminding yourself that our lifetime is simply the time we are alive - and that is always and only NOW.
Our life depends upon us waking up.
To REVIVE & THRIVE IN ‘25, to live our BEST YEAR EVER, we need only live one BEST DAY EVER at a time.
Planting our Acorns and Enjoying our Oaks!
Make it a great week!
